I
have been working in the field of adoption since 1994. I have
extensive experience working with pre-adoptive families seeking
to adopt either domestically or internationally. I am a caring
professional who will help you feel comfortable in discussing
your concerns and questions. I will assist you in clarifying
your needs and help you make knowledgeable decisions. I have
done hundreds of home studies and post placement visits, working
with several different adoption agencies.
I
bring a hands on perspective to my work and fully
understand some of the pain, confusion, excitement and fears
you may have. I believe in the value of education and preparation
to help you make the best decisions and to become the best
parents you can be. I want to be your advocate and consultant.
I
have worked as a School Psychologist and Guidance Counselor,
as well as a Management Trainer and Consultant in industry,
so I bring a wealth of experience to my work. I love having
the opportunity to help families and professionals better
understand some of the issues involved in adoption. I enjoy
working with groups of people, as well as individuals, couples
and families. You will find me to be warm, open and non-judgmental,
and thus easy to talk to. Sometimes just having a good listener
is all people need, but I draw from a solid clinical base
as well.
My
expertise is in training about many issues, ranging from corporate
and management issues, to infertility and adoption, to child
assault prevention and education. I love to present programs
to groups of people, and to facilitate learning that takes
place in that context. I have been told that my style is warm
and non-threatening, setting people at ease, which enables
the best learning environment.
